AND OUR STUDENTS ARE KILLING IT!
Never in a million years did I dream that SMW Unlimited would start the year off so incredibly successful. After 20 years in education, SMW Unlimited was my first attempt at striking out on my own. It was really meant to help me rest after five years of teaching 120+ students a year in a high stakes tested subject here in North Carolina public schools. My students and I exceeded growth every year, year after year, but my family got very tired of the 60+ hour work weeks.
So last summer, I started SMW Unlimited with two corporate clients that I contracted to help with everything from shipping, website development, first-line video editing, and office management. I also launched a very successful Air BnB for a client that now celebrates 100% five star ratings and is a "Super Host" destination. I thought these clients would be the extent of it all here at SMW Unlimited. I was very wrong.
After we launched another successful ASPIRE ACT TEST PREP program in Person County in coordination with North Carolina State University and Princeton Review, my new personal assistant company turned its focus to another kind of assistance . . . TEST PREP and TUTORING. The ASPIRE program lead to inquiries about wether or not I would take on private students for ACT Prep and other writing specific tutoring. With the looming government shutdown, I launched SMW Unlimited TEST PREP, TUTORING, and COACHING in January of 2019 and the business has been booked ever since. I even subcontracted with another educator extraordinaire to keep up with the heavy demand.
We personally want to thank you all for trusting us with your lives, goals, aspirations, and children. There are a world of possibilities open to us at this point in time, but we will stay true to our original intention . . . "We will help as many as we can -- one need at a time -- for as long as we are able."
This is only the beginning . . . We can't wait to see where you all take us.
And Green Never Looked So Good!
SMW Unlimited has helped four students obtain perfect scores in the reading, science, and/or English sections this testing season.
Our growth range for cumulative scores ranged from 3 to 12 points this year (this point spread always depends on the hours and effort put in by individual students and their starting scores). SMW biggest success this year was taking one student with a 17 score to a 32 cumulative score during a 20 hour package. Since I started prepping students for ACT tests over five years ago, I have prepped several 34/35 scores.
SMW Unlimited is still working on tutoring that perfect math score. We did have one student get as high as a 35 (she only missed one problem). We have yet to see a sea of green on the math score report, but we will get there.
Just for reference . . . only 1 to 2% of the nation’s test takers score a 34 to a 36 on the ACT, about 10 to 15% score a 30 or higher, and about 25% will score a 26 or higher.
A 17 is considered an “at grade level” score for a NC Junior.
I can't tell you how much we love seeing all of this green!
